What is a Hydrographic Survey?
A hydrographic (or bathymetric) survey maps the terrain that lies beneath a body of water. Using Echo Sounders integrated with DGPS, we measure the water depth and determine the precise coordinates to generate underwater contour maps.
Why is it Required?
Over time, reservoirs and lakes lose capacity due to siltation. Hydrographic surveys calculate the exact volume of silt to be removed (dredged). They are also essential before constructing bridges, dams, or ports to understand the underwater foundation conditions.
